0.1.1
LatestAnyPS5 Desktop 0.1.1 (Windows + Linux preview)AnyPS5 Desktop 0.1.1: the engine now downloads itself. On first start, press Download the AnyPS5 engine and the launcher fetches AnyPS5's toolkit for your system, checks it and sets it up. No more arranging files by hand.
This is still an early preview. Please report what works and what doesn't in the issues.
What's new
- Engine download: checked against GitHub's checksums, resumes if the connection drops, and keeps a few versions side by side. Settings → AnyPS5 Engine checks for engine updates, switches versions, or uses your own folder. A newer engine offers games an "update available" re-unlock.
- Installers: a Windows setup, an AppImage and a .deb, with the AnyPS5 icon.
- Linux: the AnyTogether sign-in is kept even when no desktop keyring is running.
What it does
- Library: finds the decrypted copies of your games in one folder, with their names, icons and backgrounds
- Unlock and play with the AnyPS5 engine; saves and trophies kept per game
- Per-game settings and controls: resolution, window or full screen, keyboard layout
- Trophies and save backups
- AnyTogether: sign in with an email code, a passkey (through the website) or one tap from your phone. Friends, profiles, play time and trophies, messages, parties and voice chat, and joining a friend's game (anytogether.kodla.agency)
- The AnyPS5 Remote phone app pairs with it. Using the phone as a controller in games needs an engine built from AnyPS5-ARM; upstream's engine doesn't support it yet.
Install
Windows 10/11 (x64): run AnyPS5-Desktop-Setup-0.1.1-x64.exe. It installs for your user, no admin needed, with a Start menu shortcut and an uninstaller. SmartScreen may say "Windows protected your PC": click More info → Run anyway. Portable: unzip AnyPS5-Desktop-windows-x64.zip and run anyps5_desktop.exe.
Linux (x64):
- AppImage:
chmod +x AnyPS5-Desktop-0.1.1-x86_64.AppImage, then run it. - Ubuntu/Debian:
sudo apt install ./anyps5-desktop_0.1.1_amd64.deb. - Archive: unpack the .tar.gz and run
AnyPS5-Desktop/anyps5_desktop. - The launcher runs on glibc 2.34+ (Ubuntu 22.04 or newer). Games run through AnyPS5's current Linux engine, which needs glibc 2.38+ (Ubuntu 24.04, Debian 13, Fedora 39 or newer).
Then open the launcher, press Download the AnyPS5 engine, choose your games folder and allow the firewall prompt if you want to pair your phone.
Requirements: a CPU and GPU that AnyPS5 supports (see upstream), and decrypted copies of games you own.
