Changelog

What's new.
Every release, newest first.

The release notes of AnyPS5-ARM (the Mac launcher, the engine and the phone app) and AnyPS5 Desktop (Windows and Linux), as they are published on GitHub, with each release's files.

  1. AnyPS5-ARM

    0.2.17

    LatestAnyPS5-ARM 0.2.17

AnyPS5-ARM 0.2.17 lets you go live on Twitch or YouTube, adds family controls, and from now on every update is signed.

    What's new

    • Broadcast live: Settings → Broadcasting: pick Twitch, YouTube or your own RTMP server, paste your stream key, pick 720p60, 1080p30 or 1080p60, and turn the microphone on if you like. Then Broadcast from the running game's ⋯ panel, or Go Live on the phone. You see time on air, bit rate and dropped frames; a lost connection comes back by itself. The stream key is only ever shown masked. (First release: tell us how it goes with your service.)
    • Family controls (with AnyTogether): parents set up a family on the website, add a child's account, and choose age limits, daily play time, and who the child can message, call or play with. The launcher follows them, even offline: age-rated games ask a parent, play time is warned about before it runs out and the game is closed gently when it does, and the child can ask for more time from the launcher.
    • Signed updates: every release now comes with SHA256SUMS and its Ed25519 signature. The launcher checks it before it installs an update or uses a downloaded engine, and refuses files that don't match.
    • Update channel: Settings → About → Update Channel: Stable (releases like this one) or Nightly (a build of the latest work, which may have new bugs). Switching back to Stable never downgrades you.
    • Profile picture: Settings → Behaviour → Profile Picture: pick an image, drag and zoom it in the circle; it shows on the top bar and can become your AnyTogether picture.
    • Clickable hints: the key hints at the bottom of every screen (↩ ✕, esc ○, the arrows, L1 R1…) can be clicked like their keys.
    • Share play sound: game sound now goes to viewers as Opus, about ten times less data than before (older viewers still get PCM).
    • Phone controller 1.13.0: Go Live / End Broadcast beside Back to Game, and the pad's labels in the app's font.
    • Windows and Linux: AnyPS5 Desktop 0.1.2 for Windows (sounds and theme songs like the PS5) and 0.1.1 for Linux are included below (early preview). AnyPS5-toolkit-windows-26d785b.zip is our own Windows engine build, which lets the phone work as a controller in games on Windows; AnyPS5 Desktop 0.1.3 will offer it in its engine picker.

    Install

Mac (Apple silicon, macOS 14 or newer): already on 0.2.8 or later, use Settings → About → Update to 0.2.17. Or:

    curl -fsSL https://github.com/utkuhalis/AnyPS5-ARM/releases/latest/download/install.sh | sh

It puts AnyPS5.app in Applications and installs Rosetta 2 if it is missing. With AnyPS5-macOS.zip instead: unzip and open the app; the first time, open System Settings → Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway.

    Phone:

    • Android: open AnyPS5-Remote.apk on the phone and allow installing from your browser when asked.
    • iPhone (iOS 15 or newer): install AnyPS5-Remote.ipa with AltStore, SideStore or Sideloadly, which sign it with your own Apple ID.

Windows 10/11: run AnyPS5-Desktop-Setup-0.1.2-x64.exe (installs for your user, no admin), or unzip AnyPS5-Desktop-windows-x64.zip. SmartScreen may warn: More info → Run anyway.

Linux: AnyPS5-Desktop-0.1.1-x86_64.AppImage (chmod +x, run), sudo apt install ./anyps5-desktop_0.1.1_amd64.deb, or the .tar.gz. The launcher needs Ubuntu 22.04 or newer; games through AnyPS5's current Linux engine need Ubuntu 24.04, Debian 13, Fedora 39 or newer.

On Windows and Linux, press Download the AnyPS5 engine on first start.

Engine files: AnyPS5-toolkit-macos-0.2.17-arm.zip is this release's engine for the Mac launcher's engine picker. You don't need to download it yourself.

Signed: SHA256SUMS lists every file of this release and SHA256SUMS.sig is its Ed25519 signature (key f8fe0d55df962105).

Requirements: decrypted copies of games you own.

  2. AnyPS5-ARM

    0.2.16

    AnyPS5-ARM 0.2.16

AnyPS5-ARM 0.2.16 helps you find players: a looking-for-group board, public parties and Share plays, and a page for every game, in the launcher and on the phone.

    What's new

    • Find players: open Friends → Find players. Browse what people want to play (co-op through Share play, online, party and voice, trophy help), filter by game, language and "now", and press I'm in. Post your own from a game's options (Find players for ): when you accept someone, they're invited to your party or your Share play automatically.
    • Live now: public parties and Share plays you can join or watch, and people you may know ("you both play X").
    • Game pages: for each game, who's playing it now, open posts, public parties and Share plays, its leaderboard and its compatibility.
    • Public parties and Share plays: as leader or host, choose Off / Anyone can ask / Anyone can join, with the game and language; let people in or turn them away. Only a party's leader can bring players in from a post.
    • Discovery settings: Settings → AnyTogether → Show me in discovery and the languages you play in. You're only listed if your library is public or you turn it on.
    • Share play: the stream now follows the game window when it's resized, made full screen or moved to another display, and a smaller window on a Retina screen still streams at 720p.
    • Friends panel: the selection no longer jumps when new rows (invites) appear above it.
    • Phone controller 1.12.0: Find players (board, your posts, Live now, people), public parties, a friend's joinable game, and fixes.
    • Windows and Linux: AnyPS5 Desktop 0.1.1 is included below (early preview).

    Install

Mac (Apple silicon, macOS 14 or newer): already on 0.2.8 or later, use Settings → About → Update to 0.2.16. Or:

    curl -fsSL https://github.com/utkuhalis/AnyPS5-ARM/releases/latest/download/install.sh | sh

Windows 10/11: run AnyPS5-Desktop-Setup-0.1.1-x64.exe (installs for your user, no admin), or unzip AnyPS5-Desktop-windows-x64.zip.

Engine files: AnyPS5-toolkit-macos-0.2.16-arm.zip is this release's engine for the Mac launcher's engine picker. You don't need to download it yourself.

Signed: SHA256SUMS lists every file of this release and SHA256SUMS.sig is its Ed25519 signature (key f8fe0d55df962105). Launchers from 0.2.17 on check it before installing an update or an engine.

Requirements: decrypted copies of games you own.

  3. AnyPS5-ARM

    0.2.15

    AnyPS5-ARM 0.2.15

AnyPS5-ARM 0.2.15 brings Share play, a fresh engine with upstream AnyPS5 merged in, a choice of engine versions, crash reports, and one release for every platform.

    What's new

    • Share play: while you play, open the Friends panel and start Share play. Friends watch in their browser, on the phone or in their launcher, and you can let one play as player 2, 3 or 4: local co-op games become playable together from anywhere. Your own controller stays player 1, and you can take a controller back at any time.
    • Fresh engine: upstream AnyPS5's latest work merged in (1,465 commits of fixes and game support). Tested on Cat Quest III, Hollow Knight: Silksong, Dreaming Sarah, Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted and DOOM.
    • Pick your engine: Settings → Engine lists engine versions from this project's releases, downloads and checks the one you choose, and uses it for all games or just one. You can also point it at an engine you built yourself.
    • Crash reports: when a game stops on an error, the launcher shows why, and Export Report saves the log, macOS's crash report and your settings in one file. Open Issue opens a pre-filled GitHub issue. Your name, email and sign-in tokens are removed first. A game's settings also have Detailed logging (trace).
    • AnyTogether in the launcher: an activity feed of what friends unlock and play, leaderboards per game and overall, notifications (the bell in the top bar), and the Theme Hub served by AnyTogether. After a session, a one-tap "How did it run?" sends a compatibility report.
    • Phone controller 1.11.0: edit your profile and picture, activity feed, leaderboards, 1:1 calls, notifications, and watching or joining a friend's Share play.
    • Windows and Linux: AnyPS5 Desktop 0.1.1 is included below (early preview). It has installers, and the engine downloads itself on first start.

Games unlocked with an earlier version are offered Update and Play once (the new engine); saves and trophies are kept.

    Install

Mac (Apple silicon, macOS 14 or newer): already on 0.2.8 or later, use Settings → About → Update to 0.2.15. Or:

    curl -fsSL https://github.com/utkuhalis/AnyPS5-ARM/releases/latest/download/install.sh | sh

Windows 10/11: run AnyPS5-Desktop-Setup-0.1.1-x64.exe (installs for your user, no admin), or unzip AnyPS5-Desktop-windows-x64.zip.

Engine files: AnyPS5-toolkit-macos-0.2.15-arm.zip is this release's engine for the Mac launcher's engine picker. You don't need to download it yourself.

Requirements: decrypted copies of games you own.

  4. AnyPS5 Desktop

    0.1.1

    LatestAnyPS5 Desktop 0.1.1 (Windows + Linux preview)
    Release notes

AnyPS5 Desktop 0.1.1: the engine now downloads itself. On first start, press Download the AnyPS5 engine and the launcher fetches AnyPS5's toolkit for your system, checks it and sets it up. No more arranging files by hand.

This is still an early preview. Please report what works and what doesn't in the issues.

    What's new

    • Engine download: checked against GitHub's checksums, resumes if the connection drops, and keeps a few versions side by side. Settings → AnyPS5 Engine checks for engine updates, switches versions, or uses your own folder. A newer engine offers games an "update available" re-unlock.
    • Installers: a Windows setup, an AppImage and a .deb, with the AnyPS5 icon.
    • Linux: the AnyTogether sign-in is kept even when no desktop keyring is running.

    What it does

    • Library: finds the decrypted copies of your games in one folder, with their names, icons and backgrounds
    • Unlock and play with the AnyPS5 engine; saves and trophies kept per game
    • Per-game settings and controls: resolution, window or full screen, keyboard layout
    • Trophies and save backups
    • AnyTogether: sign in with an email code, a passkey (through the website) or one tap from your phone. Friends, profiles, play time and trophies, messages, parties and voice chat, and joining a friend's game (anytogether.kodla.agency)
    • The AnyPS5 Remote phone app pairs with it. Using the phone as a controller in games needs an engine built from AnyPS5-ARM; upstream's engine doesn't support it yet.

    Install

Windows 10/11 (x64): run AnyPS5-Desktop-Setup-0.1.1-x64.exe. It installs for your user, no admin needed, with a Start menu shortcut and an uninstaller. SmartScreen may say "Windows protected your PC": click More info → Run anyway. Portable: unzip AnyPS5-Desktop-windows-x64.zip and run anyps5_desktop.exe.

    Linux (x64):

    • AppImage: chmod +x AnyPS5-Desktop-0.1.1-x86_64.AppImage, then run it.
    • Ubuntu/Debian: sudo apt install ./anyps5-desktop_0.1.1_amd64.deb.
    • Archive: unpack the .tar.gz and run AnyPS5-Desktop/anyps5_desktop.
    • The launcher runs on glibc 2.34+ (Ubuntu 22.04 or newer). Games run through AnyPS5's current Linux engine, which needs glibc 2.38+ (Ubuntu 24.04, Debian 13, Fedora 39 or newer).

Then open the launcher, press Download the AnyPS5 engine, choose your games folder and allow the firewall prompt if you want to pair your phone.

Requirements: a CPU and GPU that AnyPS5 supports (see upstream), and decrypted copies of games you own.

  5. AnyPS5 Desktop

    0.1.0

    AnyPS5 Desktop 0.1.0 (Windows + Linux preview)
    Release notes

The first builds of AnyPS5 Desktop for Windows and Linux: the AnyPS5-ARM launcher for PCs, with the same PS5-style home screen.

This is an early preview. The launcher itself is built and tested, but it hasn't yet been tried with real games on many PCs. Please report what works and what doesn't in the issues.

    What it does

    • Library: finds the decrypted dumps of your games in one folder, with their names, icons and backgrounds
    • Unlock and play: turns a dump into a copy AnyPS5 can run with the toolkit's relinker, then starts it; saves and trophies are kept per game
    • Per-game settings and controls: keyboard layout, resolution, window or full screen
    • Trophies and save backups
    • AnyTogether: sign in with an email code or a passkey through the website, plus friends, presence, play time and trophies on your profile, messages, parties and voice chat, and joining a friend's game (anytogether.kodla.agency)
    • The phone app pairs with it (AnyPS5 Remote). Using the phone as a controller in games needs a toolkit built from the AnyPS5-ARM engine; upstream's toolkit doesn't support it yet.

    Install (Windows 10/11, x64)

    1. Download AnyPS5-Desktop-Setup-0.1.0-x64.exe and run it: it installs for your user (no admin needed), with a Start menu shortcut and an uninstaller. Windows SmartScreen may say "Windows protected your PC": click More info → Run anyway. Prefer no install? AnyPS5-Desktop-windows-x64.zip is the portable version: unzip and run anyps5_desktop.exe.
    2. Get the AnyPS5 toolkit for Windows from boykopovar/AnyPS5 releases: put relinker-v0.1.3.exe (renamed to relinker.exe) and the contents of prx-windows-v0.1.3.zip (the libs folder) together in one folder, then choose that folder when the launcher asks for the toolkit.
    3. Choose your games folder. Allow the firewall prompt if you want to pair your phone.

    Install (Linux, x64)

    1. AppImage (any distro): download AnyPS5-Desktop-0.1.0-x86_64.AppImage, chmod +x it and run it. Ubuntu/Debian: sudo apt install ./anyps5-desktop_0.1.0_amd64.deb, then start AnyPS5 Desktop from your apps. Or unpack AnyPS5-Desktop-linux-x64.tar.gz and run AnyPS5-Desktop/anyps5_desktop. It needs GTK 3 and glibc 2.34 or newer (Ubuntu 22.04, Debian 12, Fedora 35, Steam Deck, Arch or newer).
    2. Get the Linux toolkit from boykopovar/AnyPS5 releases: relinker-v0.1.3 (renamed to relinker, made executable) and the contents of prx-linux-v0.1.3.tar.gz (the libs folder) in one folder, then choose it in the launcher.
    3. Optional: install libsecret-tools so the AnyTogether sign-in is kept in your desktop keyring.

Requirements: a CPU and GPU that AnyPS5 supports (see upstream), and decrypted dumps of games you own.

  6. AnyPS5-ARM

    0.2.14

    AnyPS5-ARM 0.2.14
    Release notes

AnyPS5-ARM 0.2.14 brings AnyTogether's social side into the launcher and the phone: profiles, messages, parties, voice chat and joining a friend's game.

    What's new

    • Profiles: your own and your friends', in the launcher: games, play time, trophies with rarity. Edit your name, bio and handle, and choose who sees your library, trophies, friends and presence (Settings → AnyTogether).
    • Messages: the new Messages button in the top bar. Chats with friends and group chats, live, with typing indicators and an unread count.
    • Parties: the Party button. Start one, invite friends or open it to them, join a friend's party; the leader can hand over the lead or remove someone.
    • Voice chat: talk in your party while you play, straight from player to player (through a relay when needed). Push-to-talk with ⌥V, works over the game. Call a friend 1:1; an incoming call shows over the game (⌥A answer, ⌥D decline). The Mac asks once for the microphone.
    • Join a friend's game: while you play, friends see "Joinable" and can start the same game from their Friends panel; both sides must run the same game version.
    • Another server: Settings → AnyTogether → Server connects to a self-hosted AnyTogether.
    • Fixes: unlocking now matches upstream's unwrapper exactly (unlocked games keep working; "Update and Play" is optional), and play time and trophies waiting to be sent stay with the account they belong to.
    • Phone controller 1.10.0: friends, messages, parties and party voice on the phone (the people button on the home screen), and another AnyTogether server.

Games need Update and Play once if they were unlocked before 0.2.10; saves and trophies are kept.

    Install

Already on 0.2.8 or later: Settings → About → Update to 0.2.14.

    curl -fsSL https://github.com/utkuhalis/AnyPS5-ARM/releases/latest/download/install.sh | sh

It puts AnyPS5.app in Applications (replacing the older version) and installs Rosetta 2 if it is missing. With AnyPS5-macOS.zip instead: unzip it and open the app; the first time, open System Settings → Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway.

    The phone app:

    • Android: open AnyPS5-Remote.apk on the phone and allow installing from your browser when asked.
    • iPhone (iOS 15 or newer): install AnyPS5-Remote.ipa with AltStore (or SideStore, or Sideloadly from a computer), which signs it with your own Apple ID as it installs it. With a free Apple ID it has to be refreshed every 7 days; AltStore does that by itself.

Windows and Linux (AnyPS5 Desktop 0.1.0, early preview: the same launcher with AnyTogether built in):

    • Windows 10/11: run AnyPS5-Desktop-Setup-0.1.0-x64.exe (installs for your user, no admin), or unzip AnyPS5-Desktop-windows-x64.zip. SmartScreen may warn: More info → Run anyway.
    • Linux: AnyPS5-Desktop-0.1.0-x86_64.AppImage (chmod +x, run), or sudo apt install ./anyps5-desktop_0.1.0_amd64.deb, or the .tar.gz. Needs glibc 2.34+ (Ubuntu 22.04, Debian 12, Fedora 35 or newer).
    • The engine toolkit for Windows/Linux comes from AnyPS5's releases; details on AnyPS5 Desktop.

Requirements: an Apple silicon Mac, macOS 14 or newer, Rosetta 2, and decrypted dumps of games you own.

  7. AnyPS5-ARM

    0.2.13

    AnyPS5-ARM 0.2.13
    Release notes

AnyPS5-ARM 0.2.13 brings the first part of AnyTogether, AnyPS5's online side: an account, friends, play time and trophies, at anytogether.kodla.agency.

    What's new

    • AnyTogether sign-in: Settings → AnyTogether. No password and no sign-up form: type your email and the code that arrives, or get a code to type on the website.
    • Sign in with your phone: with the phone connected, Sign in with my phone in the launcher, then Allow on the phone. It works the other way too: the phone signs in with the Mac's account in one tap.
    • Friends: the new Friends button in the top bar. Add people by their handle, accept requests, and see who is online and what they are playing ("Playing Cat Quest III · 25 min").
    • Play time and trophies online: the time you play and the trophies you earn go to your AnyTogether profile, with each trophy's rarity among players. Played while offline, it goes up the next time you are online.
    • Remote Play permission: the Mac now asks for the screen recording permission itself, and the phone says clearly when it is missing.
    • Phone controller 1.9.1: AnyTogether sign-in (About → AnyTogether), the Mac's sign-in request as a card, and the About sheet fits a phone held sideways.

    Install

Already on 0.2.8 or later: Settings → About → Update to 0.2.13.

    curl -fsSL https://github.com/utkuhalis/AnyPS5-ARM/releases/latest/download/install.sh | sh

Requirements: an Apple silicon Mac, macOS 14 or newer, Rosetta 2, and decrypted dumps of games you own.

  8. AnyPS5-ARM

    0.2.12

    AnyPS5-ARM 0.2.12
    Release notes

AnyPS5-ARM 0.2.12 adds Remote Play, a phone on a cable, the Theme Studio and the AnyPS5 Hub.

    What's new

    • Remote Play: turn on Remote Play in the phone's About sheet and the game plays on the phone's screen, behind the pad, picture and sound (up to 720p at 60 fps, H.264 with low-latency encoding). It is off by default, so the phone stays the controller alone. The Mac asks once for the screen recording permission.
    • Phone on a cable: no Wi-Fi needed. Plug an iPhone into the Mac and it connects through the cable by itself. An Android phone does the same with USB debugging on and adb installed on the Mac.
    • Theme Studio: Settings → Appearance → Theme Studio makes your own theme: the motion, its color, highlight and lightness, the accent, a picture or video behind it and menu music. Every change shows at once. Save as a file gives you one .anyps5theme to share; opening one in Finder installs it.
    • AnyPS5 Hub: Settings → Appearance → Themes shows the themes people share, installed with one press (five to start with). Share on the Hub sends yours.
    • The phone wears your theme: its home screen takes the launcher's colors.
    • Unreal Engine controls: in a game's Controls, each button shows what the game itself does with it (Jump, Sprint, Move forward), read from the game's own files.
    • Links: anyps5://game/<title ID> and anyps5://play/<title ID> select or start a game (Copy Link in the game's settings), and a folder opened with AnyPS5 from Finder can become your games folder.
    • Phone controller 1.9.0: the cable, Remote Play and the theme.

Games need Update and Play once if they were unlocked before 0.2.10; saves and trophies are kept.

    Install

Already on 0.2.8 or later: Settings → About → Update to 0.2.12.

    curl -fsSL https://github.com/utkuhalis/AnyPS5-ARM/releases/latest/download/install.sh | sh

Requirements: an Apple silicon Mac, macOS 14 or newer, Rosetta 2, and decrypted dumps of games you own.

  9. AnyPS5-ARM

    0.2.11

    AnyPS5-ARM 0.2.11
    Release notes

AnyPS5-ARM 0.2.11 adds clips, save sync across Macs, and Check for Updates.

    What's new

    • Clips: turn on Settings → Behaviour → Clips, and the launcher keeps the last seconds of the game playing, picture and sound (15 to 120 s, 30 by default). Create on a DualSense (Share on a DualShock 4), ⌥F12 from anywhere, or the new Create button on the phone saves them as an MP4 beside the game's screenshots. The gallery shows clips with a play badge and plays them. macOS asks once for the screen recording permission (System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen & System Audio Recording).
    • Save Sync: Settings → Behaviour → Save Sync keeps each game's saves and trophies the same on all your Macs, through iCloud Drive or any folder you choose (Dropbox, Google Drive, a shared or USB folder). Before a game starts, newer saves from another Mac come down, and a card says which Mac they came from. When the game ends, this Mac's saves go up. Nothing is lost: whatever is replaced is backed up first.
    • Check for Updates: in Settings → About, it asks GitHub at once and says whether you are up to date. The launcher also checks again when you come back to it after a while, so a new release shows without a restart.
    • Low Power Mode notice: Low Power Mode holds a ProMotion display at 60 Hz. When a game starts in it, a card says so, and that frame generation cannot work then.
    • Phone controller 1.8.0: a Create button (◉, left of the touchpad) saves a clip.

Games need Update and Play once if they were unlocked before 0.2.10; saves and trophies are kept.

    Install

    0.2.10

    AnyPS5-ARM 0.2.10
    Release notes

AnyPS5-ARM 0.2.10 fixes frame generation in full screen.

    Fixed

    • Frame generation in full screen: a full-screen window had only two swapchain images, which frame generation's two presents a frame used up. The game could slow to a crawl when generation turned on and then stop with "Engine error: AGC graphics: storage texture has no committed guest pages". Frame generation now asks for three images, and it stays off where it cannot have them. In Cat Quest III, full screen, it now holds 120 fps in game (60 of the game's + 60 generated) on a 120 Hz display.

Everything else is as in 0.2.9: frame generation (experimental), the minimal overlay, and no double space on drives that cannot clone. Frame generation turns itself off wherever it would cost the game its own frames, such as in Low Power Mode, which holds the display at 60 Hz.

Games need Update and Play once; saves and trophies are kept.

  11. AnyPS5-ARM

    0.2.9

    AnyPS5-ARM 0.2.9
    Release notes

AnyPS5-ARM 0.2.9 adds frame generation (experimental) and a minimal performance overlay.

    What's new

    • Frame generation (experimental): Game settings → Frame Generation makes a frame between each two of the game's from the motion between them, so a 60 fps game shows 120 on a 120 Hz display. Nothing comes from the game but its frames. It turns on vertical sync, and it turns itself off within a few seconds wherever it would cost the game its own frames: on a 60 Hz display, in Low Power Mode (which holds a ProMotion display at 60 Hz), or in a game already at the display's rate. It looks again now and then, so it comes back when it helps. Fast motion can show some smearing at object edges.
    • Minimal overlay: Game settings → Performance Overlay now has Overlay Style. Minimal (the new default) is one line in a small capsule in the chosen corner: frames per second, generated frames (FG +n), frame time, GPU and CPU use, memory. It stays out of F12 screenshots. Detailed is the panel with the frame-time graph, as before; the panel now shows the memory on the Mac too.
    • No double space on any drive: on a drive that cannot clone files (exFAT, HFS+), unlocking a game now links to the dump instead of copying it. On APFS (the Mac's own disk) the files were already clones that take no space; keep the dump either way.

Games unlocked before show Update available: Update and Play once gives them the new engine and keeps their saves and trophies.

  12. AnyPS5-ARM

    0.2.8

    AnyPS5-ARM 0.2.8
    Release notes

AnyPS5-ARM 0.2.8 brings local co-op: up to four phones and controllers play together, each as its own player.

    What's new

    • Up to four players: games with local co-op see a DualSense per player. Up to four phones connect at once, and every game controller on the Mac counts too. A phone or controller becomes the next player the first time a button is pressed on it in the game, and the game hears that player log in, as on the console. A new phone can pair while others are connected.
    • Player numbers: the launcher's phone indicator shows every connected phone with its number: its player in the game, or an empty ring until it is pressed. A pad the game gives no light glows in the player's colour: blue, red, green or pink.
    • Phone controller 1.7.0:
      • What the Mac is doing: while a game is unlocked, updated or started, a card at the top of the phone shows the step, a bar that fills and the time it has taken, then says when the game is ready.
      • Trophies: a trophy earned in the game drops in at the top of the phone too, with its icon and grade, and the phone buzzes.
      • Touchpad: sliding a finger moves the touch without clicking, a tap is a click, a finger held still clicks until it lifts, and two fingers are two touches.
    • PS button: a game controller's PS button brings the launcher in front of the game, and back to the game. L1 / R1 move between games in the launcher. (If macOS opens Launchpad instead, change it in System Settings → Game Controllers.)

Games unlocked before show Update available: Update and Play once gives them the new engine and keeps their saves and trophies.

    0.2.7

AnyPS5-ARM 0.2.7 — Screenshot gallery, save backups, phone motion
    Release notes

AnyPS5-ARM 0.2.7 adds a screenshot gallery, save backups, and motion controls on the phone.

    What's new

    • Screenshot gallery: Game settings → Screenshots shows the game's F12 shots in a grid and one at a time over the whole screen; △ shows one in Finder, and L1 / R1 move to the next game.
    • Save backups: Back Up Saves puts the game's saves and trophies in a zip in Documents → AnyPS5 → Backups. Restore Saves puts a backup back, and backs up what the game had first, so nothing is ever lost.
    • Phone controller 1.5.0: the phone's motion sensors are the DualSense's. Tilt the phone to steer or turn it to aim in games that use motion; it follows whichever way you hold the phone. About turns it off.
    • Updates: the update download now shows how far it is. (Coming from 0.2.6, it still shows 0 % until it is done; from now on it counts up.)

  14. AnyPS5-ARM

    0.2.6

AnyPS5-ARM 0.2.6 — Self-updates, phone rumble and your own layout
    Release notes

AnyPS5-ARM 0.2.6: the launcher updates itself from now on, and the phone controller rumbles and takes your own layout.

    What's new

    • The launcher updates itself. It checks for a new AnyPS5 when it starts and every six hours, tells you when one is out, and Settings → About → Update to … downloads it, puts it in place of the old one and opens it again. Settings → Behaviour turns the checks off. This release is the last one you install by hand.
    • Phone controller 1.4.0 (AnyPS5-Remote.apk for Android and, new, AnyPS5-Remote.ipa for the iPhone, below):
      • Rumble: the game's two motors are felt on the phone, the large one dull and the small one crisp.
      • Trigger effects: while L2 or R2 is held, the phone pulses where the DualSense trigger would push back.
      • Light bar: the pad glows with the colour the game gives its light bar.
      • Your own layout, per game: the lock at the pad's bottom left opens an editor. Drag a control to move it, tap it to size it, fade it, hide it, or make it a toggle (one tap presses it, the next lets go) or a turbo button. The Mac keeps the layout with the game's settings, so it comes back whenever that game plays.
      • About has a switch to turn the vibration off.
    • Engine: synced again with upstream AnyPS5 (827 more commits), with its new code made to work on macOS. Among them: a positioned write to a file opened for appending now appends, as on the console, instead of overwriting.

Games unlocked before show Update available: Update and Play once gives them the new engine and keeps their saves and trophies.

    0.2.5

    AnyPS5-ARM 0.2.5 — L1/R1, game music, volumes
    Release notes

AnyPS5-ARM 0.2.5 brings the community's suggestions to the launcher, and the engine up to date with upstream AnyPS5.

    What's new

    • L1 / R1 switch games (Q / E on the keyboard): on the home screen they jump to the game before or after, and inside a game's settings, controls or trophies they switch to the next game with the panel still open, without backing out first.
    • Game music: rest on a game and its own theme song fades in, like on the PS5; it fades out when you move on, start a game or leave the launcher. It plays for games whose dump carries one (sce_sys/snd0.at9).
    • Volume for the game music and for the interface sounds (Settings → Behaviour), from off to 100 %, instead of only on and off.
    • Fixed: the trophy list opens at the top for every game, instead of where it was left for the previous one.
    • Engine: synced with upstream AnyPS5 (761 commits), with its new code made to work on macOS.

Games unlocked before show Update available: Update and Play once gives them the new engine and keeps their saves and trophies.

    AnyPS5-ARM 0.2.4 — Your phone as a controller
    Release notes

AnyPS5-ARM 0.2.4 turns your phone into a DualSense, and lets you drive the whole launcher from it.

    What's new

    • AnyPS5 Remote, the phone app (Android; AnyPS5-Remote.apk below). On the same Wi-Fi it finds the Mac by itself; the first time, the Mac asks once and both show the same code.
      • Launcher on the phone: the Mac's games with their icons over the selected one's background, the same selection on both. Play, Back to Game and Close Game from the phone; the arrows, ✕, ○ and ≡ move around the launcher's own screen.
      • The pad: both sticks, ✕ ○ □ △, L1 R1, L2 R2, the D-pad, Options and the touchpad, any of them at once, with the latency shown. It takes over as soon as a game starts.
      • PS takes the phone back to the launcher and brings the launcher in front of the game.
      • It speaks the launcher's language. About names who made it and where the code is.
    • mController in the launcher's top bar: an empty ring with no phone, orange while one connects, green with its latency once it is connected, and a card over the game when a phone connects.
    • English by default in the launcher (Turkish stays in Settings → Language).
    • Each branch of the repository is now its own project: main (everything), launcher, mobile-controller (the phone app), rosetta (the engine alone) and native-arm64.

Games unlocked before show Update available: Update and Play once gives them the engine that reads the phone, and keeps their saves and trophies.

The phone app: open AnyPS5-Remote.apk on the phone and allow installing from your browser when asked. The phone and the Mac have to be on the same Wi-Fi.

Requirements: an Apple silicon Mac, macOS 14 or newer, Rosetta 2, and decrypted dumps of games you own.

  17. AnyPS5-ARM

    0.2.3

AnyPS5-ARM 0.2.3 — Discord, faster launches, update or play
    Release notes

AnyPS5-ARM 0.2.3 shows what you play on Discord, opens games without the long "Verifying…" wait, and asks before playing a game that has an update.

    What's new

    • Discord Rich Presence. While a game runs, your Discord profile shows it. A game Discord knows (Hollow Knight: Silksong, Stray, DOOM…) shows as itself, with its own name and icon and "AnyPS5 Launcher" under it; any other game shows under AnyPS5 with its name. It needs the Discord app open on the Mac, and can be turned off in Settings → Behaviour.
    • No more "Verifying…" on every launch. macOS checked the whole app again each time a game had written a save into it, which for a big game took a minute or more. The game's files now live next to its app (in .AnyPS5/Data), so macOS checks the app once, the first time, and games open at once after that.
    • Update or play. Pressing Play on a game with an update asks whether to Update and Play or Play Now.
    • About shows who made AnyPS5-ARM and links to its GitHub page and to the AnyPS5 project it is built on.

Games unlocked with 0.2.2 show Update available: updating them moves their files out of the app and keeps their saves and trophies.

    0.2.2

AnyPS5-ARM 0.2.2 — Trophies, controls and advanced settings
    Release notes

AnyPS5-ARM 0.2.2 adds trophies, per-game controls and advanced settings to the launcher, and brings the engine up to date with upstream AnyPS5 (856 commits).

    What's new

    • Trophies. A 🏆 button beside Play opens the game's trophy list as the console shows it: the percentage, the count per grade, and every trophy with its icon, description and the day you earned it. Hidden trophies stay hidden, and trophies that count something show how far you are. When a game earns a trophy while you play, a card drops in at the top of the screen, over the game and in full screen too, without taking the keyboard or the mouse from it. The engine records trophies starting with this release.
    • Controls. Every pad button and stick direction can be set per game by pressing the key you want. The default layout is WASD for the left stick and J / K / L / I for □ / ✕ / ○ / △, and a new Slow Movement key can be bound for walking.
    • Advanced settings (⋯ → Advanced):
      • stick deadzones;
      • the mouse as the camera: sensitivity, vertical speed, curve, minimum tilt, maximum speed, smoothing, decay;
      • keyboard stick and trigger ramps;
      • the shader cache;
      • Export / Import Settings, to share a game's keys and settings as one file.
    • Why a game stopped. When a game ends on an error, the launcher says why in plain words: a missing module, an unsupported system function, the GPU, memory, an engine error or a crash. Make a Report saves a text file to attach on Discord or GitHub.
    • Saves and trophies survive Unlock Again. Before, unlocking a game again deleted the saves stored in its app.
    • Screenshots taken with F12 now go to ~/Pictures/AnyPS5 (changeable in Settings → Advanced).

Games unlocked with 0.2.1 show Update available: ⋯ → Unlock Again updates them and keeps their saves.

  19. AnyPS5-ARM

    0.2.1

    AnyPS5-ARM 0.2.1 — Unity games and a start screen
    Release notes

AnyPS5-ARM 0.2.1 makes the launcher handle Unity games and shows what a game is doing while it starts.

    What's new

    • Unity games unlock in one click. The launcher now converts Unity's own modules (Media/Modules, Media/Plugins) with the game. Before, a Unity game such as Hollow Knight: Silksong unlocked but stopped at once with a "library not loaded" error. Silksong now plays at a steady 120 FPS from the launcher (game page). Games you already unlocked with 0.2.0 can be fixed with Unlock again in the game's settings.
    • Start screen. After Play, the game's icon, a timer and a progress bar stay up until the game's window appears, so a slow first start no longer looks like nothing is happening. Esc / ○ cancels the start.
    • A game that fails to start is noticed. If a game quits or crashes before its window opens, the launcher says so ("The game could not start") instead of showing it as playing.

    Install

    curl -fsSL https://github.com/utkuhalis/AnyPS5-ARM/releases/latest/download/install.sh | sh

It puts AnyPS5.app in Applications (replacing 0.2.0) and installs Rosetta 2 if it is missing. With AnyPS5-macOS.zip instead: unzip it and open the app; the first time, open System Settings → Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway.

  20. AnyPS5-ARM

    0.2.0

    AnyPS5-ARM 0.2.0 — PS5-style launcher
    Release notes

AnyPS5-ARM 0.2.0 brings AnyPS5.app, a PS5-style launcher: it finds the game dumps in your games folder, unlocks (converts) a game in one click and starts it.

    Install

The quickest way is one line in Terminal. A download through curl is not quarantined, so macOS opens the app without the "cannot be opened" or "damaged" warnings:

    curl -fsSL https://github.com/utkuhalis/AnyPS5-ARM/releases/latest/download/install.sh | sh

It puts AnyPS5.app in Applications and installs Rosetta 2 if it is missing.

With AnyPS5-macOS.zip instead: unzip it and open the app. It is not notarized, so the first time open System Settings → Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway. If macOS then runs it from its read-only copy of downloaded apps, the launcher offers to move itself to Applications.

Requirements: an Apple silicon Mac, macOS 14 or newer, Rosetta 2, and decrypted dumps of games you own.

    The launcher

    • First start: language (Türkçe or English), one of three animated themes (Cosmic, Aurora, Sunset), and the games folder. Subfolders are scanned; new games show up on their own.
    • Home screen: the tile row, the selected game's artwork drifting behind it, its title, buttons and details, and a game library grid.
    • Unlocking: a game that is not converted yet shows a lock. Unlock opens eboot.bin and the modules even when they are still SELF containers, relinks them and makes the game app, with a PS5-style progress bar. The game files are APFS clones of the dump, so an unlocked game takes no extra space. Everything the launcher makes loses the download's quarantine flag.
    • Game settings (⋯ or △):
      • output resolution, for titles with a resolution patch such as Stray;
      • window or full screen, and the window size;
      • vertical sync, the performance overlay and the game's language;
      • Show in Finder, the log, clearing the shader cache, unlocking again, removing the installation.
    • Personalizing: theme, accent color, the background (theme animation, your own picture or a looping video), game artwork, animations, interface sounds, profile name.
    • Input: arrow keys, Return and Esc; a game controller (D-pad, ✕, ○, △); the mouse and trackpad.
    Game settings Unlocking

    Also in this release

    • Upstream: every upstream change up to this release is merged. The fork is level with boykopovar/AnyPS5.
    • New game window options:
      • ANYPS5_FULLSCREEN=1 opens the game window full screen;
      • ANYPS5_WINDOW_SIZE sets its size as a share of the display.
    • Stray (PPSA02100) reaches gameplay, at about 12 fps on an M3 Pro.

    Türkçe

    curl -fsSL https://github.com/utkuhalis/AnyPS5-ARM/releases/latest/download/install.sh | sh

    AnyPS5.app'i Uygulamalar'a koyar, Rosetta 2 yoksa kurar.

    Launcher
    • İlk açılış: dil, üç hareketli temadan biri (Kozmik, Aurora, Gün Batımı) ve oyun klasörü. Alt klasörler taranır, yeni oyunlar kendiliğinden görünür.
    • Ana ekran:
      • üstte oyun şeridi;
      • arkada seçili oyunun yavaşça kayan görseli;
      • oyunun başlığı, butonları ve bilgileri;
      • ayrıca tüm oyunların durduğu bir kütüphane ekranı.
    • Kilit açma:
      • Dönüştürülmemiş oyunlarda kilit işareti olur.
      • Kilidi Aç, eboot.bin ve modüller hâlâ SELF kabı olsa bile açar, relink eder ve oyun uygulamasını PS5'teki gibi bir ilerleme çubuğuyla hazırlar.
      • Oyun dosyaları APFS klonu olduğu için ek yer kaplamaz.
    • Oyun ayarları (⋯ ya da △):
      • çözünürlük (Stray gibi yaması olan oyunlarda);
      • pencere ya da tam ekran, pencere boyutu;
      • dikey senkronizasyon, performans göstergesi, oyun dili;
      • Finder'da göster, günlük, shader önbelleğini temizleme, kilidi yeniden açma, kurulumu kaldırma.
    • Kişiselleştirme: tema, vurgu rengi, arka plan (tema animasyonu, kendi resmin ya da videon), oyun görseli, animasyonlar, arayüz sesleri, profil adı.

    0.1.0

    AnyPS5-ARM 0.1.0 — PS5 games on Apple silicon
    Release notes

First Apple silicon release of AnyPS5-ARM: run PS5 games you own natively on an M-series Mac. The game's x86-64 code runs under Rosetta 2, and the PS5 graphics driver runs on Metal through MoltenVK.

    Download

AnyPS5-macOS.zip contains AnyPS5.app, which turns a game folder into a Mac app in four steps, with no Terminal and no Vulkan SDK. The relinker, the system libraries and MoltenVK are inside it.

    1. Unzip and move AnyPS5.app to Applications.
    2. The app is not notarized. The first time, open System Settings → Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway, or run xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/AnyPS5.app.
    3. Pick (or drag in) the folder of a decrypted dump of a game you own, click Convert, then Play.

Requirements: an Apple silicon Mac, macOS 14 or newer, and Rosetta 2 (the app offers to install it).

    Status

    • Dreaming Sarah (PPSA02929): menu and gameplay at 60 fps on an M3 Pro (macOS 26.6.2).
    • Test suite on MoltenVK: 477 of 484 pass. The 7 failures are Apple GPU or Metal limits.
    • Only this game has been verified so far. Other games may stop at a function or GPU feature that is not implemented yet. The log is at ~/Library/Logs/AnyPS5/<TITLE ID>.log.

    What's new in this fork

    • Write watch: a guest write watch for macOS takes Dreaming Sarah from about 18 to 60 fps.
    • Metal gaps covered:
      • zeroed padding images replace MoltenVK's missing null descriptors
      • one-lane subgroups run in vertex and tessellation evaluation shaders
      • single-sample lowering replaces MSAA storage images
      • Metal argument buffers lift the 31 storage buffers per stage limit
    • Crashes fixed:
      • guest mprotect is rounded against the image's load bias
      • thread destructors register through _tlv_atexit
      • quitting a title no longer ends in a crash report
    • Finder launch: packaged titles start from Finder.
    • New app: the AnyPS5 converter app, with English and Turkish UI.

Full details are in docs/dev/MACOS_PORT.md. This fork builds on boykopovar/AnyPS5 and mugurc's macOS port.

    1. Zip'i aç ve AnyPS5.app'i Uygulamalar klasörüne taşı.

Test paketinde 484 testin 477'si geçiyor; geçmeyen 7 test Apple GPU'sunun veya Metal'in sınırlarına takılıyor. Şimdilik yalnızca bu oyun doğrulandı. Bir oyun takılırsa sebebi ~/Library/Logs/AnyPS5/<TITLE ID>.log dosyasında yazar.
